Plans, seats & billing
Plans gate features, not your data. Everything you have already analysed or published stays yours and stays readable if you downgrade.
The four plans

Seats and device activations
A paid plan grants desktop seats. Each machine you activate BCILattice on consumes one seat for as long as it stays active.
- Deactivate a machine from account settings to hand its seat back immediately.
- Re-activating a machine you previously used reuses its record rather than taking a second seat.
- A seat is per machine, not per person — a laptop and a lab workstation are two seats.
- Team plans have a separate member limit; a team member still needs their own plan seat for the desktop app.
What plans do and do not affect
- Publishing and review
- Peer review is not a paid feature. Submitting work, being reviewed, and appearing in the public record do not require a specific plan.
- Storage
- Cloud storage quotas are per plan and apply to what you publish or sync — not to the recordings sitting on your own disk.
- Downgrades
- Dropping to a lower plan turns off gated features. It does not delete your studies, your published work, or your local files; content over the new quota becomes read-only rather than being removed.
- Model export formats
- Some export targets — full PyTorch checkpoints and edge deploy in particular — are paid-plan features. Locally trained weights remain usable inside the app regardless.
Universities and institutions
Multi-seat and department licensing for universities, hospitals, and non-profit research groups is handled case by case through the Enterprise plan, which covers seat counts, procurement, and legal review.
Billing, invoices, and cancellation
- Payments are processed by our payment provider; card details never reach BCINexus servers.
- Invoices and payment history are in the billing section of your dashboard.
- Cancelling stops the next renewal and leaves the plan active until the end of the paid period.
- Longer cycles are discounted; switching cycle takes effect at the next renewal.
Refunds
Refund eligibility and the window are set out in the refund policy. If a purchase went wrong — duplicate charge, wrong plan, wrong cycle — write to [email protected] with the invoice number rather than filing a dispute; it is faster.
